This shop is located in the Portage Mall just up the road in Portage. Open from 12 PM to 9 PM six days a week, they are closed on Mondays. Their specialty is the Super Sundae, which is a special edition sundae that changes monthly. Their convenient location and reasonable prices make Super Scoops one of our favorite frozen treat shops!
2. Sundae Funday
Located south of Hobart, you’ll find this shop at 9281 E 109th St. in Crown Point. They are open seven days a week, from 4 PM to 9 PM Monday through Friday, and from 12 PM to 9 PM on Saturdays and Sundays. With over thirty flavors to choose from, their menu is varied and contains everything from single scoops to cakes and dessert pizzas. This is a great place to stop for a quick, delicious treat to go!
3. Z’s Shakes & Cakes
Just down the road in Gary, Z’s is located at 1215 Broadway. They are open 10 AM to 7 PM Tuesday through Friday and 10 AM to 6 PM Saturday. They’re closed on Sundays and Mondays. This family-based business specializes in milkshakes and specialty cakes. With large portions, the value for the money is good. They also have a full range of baked goods if you prefer something different as a sweet treat. Best of all, they can personalize your treats for a one-of-a-kind party treat!
4. Sundaes on the Lake
Just over half an hour away in Cedar Lake, Sundaes on the Lake is located at 13134 Lakeshore Dr. Open from 11 AM to 9:30 PM Monday through Saturday, and 11 AM to 8:30 PM on Sundays, this shop is located right by the water. They have an outdoor eating area that makes it a great place to sit with a cool treat and watch the sunset. The full menu also includes fast food and takeaway packages of treats for boaters.
